Grant Writer (Contract)
A Better Way is a mission-driven, community-based mental health organization dedicated to supporting children and families involved in the foster care system. We’re seeking an experienced Grant Writer to collaborate directly with our CEO on sourcing and securing unrestricted funding to support our vital programs. Responsibilities: - Research, identify, and evaluate potential grant opportunities, with a focus on unrestricted funds - Develop compelling grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documentation - Use Instrumentl to track, manage, and evaluate funding opportunities - Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to align proposals with organizational goals - Track submissions and maintain clear records of deadlines and awarded grants Qualifications: - Proven success in writing and securing grants for nonprofits, ideally in mental health or child welfare sectors - Proficient with Instrumentl or similar grant research platforms - Strong research, writing, and organizational skills - Able to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote or hybrid environment - Passion for social justice and improving outcomes for children in foster care Commitment: Initial 3–6 month contract, with potential for a longer-term partnership for the right candidate.
