Django/React Developer Needed to Complete Tutoring and Community Features
We're looking for an experienced full-stack developer to help complete a web platform built with Django (backend) and React (frontend). The foundation is already in place, but we need someone to help build out remaining features and improve existing ones. **Tasks include** - Build out the tutoring functionality: scheduling and availability management, tutor profiles and filtering, booking system with email notifications - Improve the existing community/forum app: UI/UX enhancements, better content organization (threaded discussions, tags, etc.), notification or activity tracking system - Optionally add an “opportunities board” feature for users to post and browse listings (volunteer, research, job-related, etc.) **Tech stack** - Backend: Django, Django REST Framework - Frontend: React - Database: PostgreSQL - Deployment: AWS (EC2, S3, RDS) **What we’re looking for** - Strong experience with Django and React (please include past work or examples) - Ability to work with an existing codebase and follow established patterns - Clean, scalable coding habits and a focus on user-friendly design - Good communicator and able to work independently without micromanagement **Bonus if you have experience with** - Email or in-app notifications - Search and filtering tools - Moderation or reporting systems - AWS services and deployment optimization We're looking to hire quickly.
