Regulatory Compliance SME – Chemical Safety & Data Sheets Review
Location: Remote (U.S. only) Duration: 4–6 weeks (part-time, async) Start: Within 7 days About the Project We’re developing a lightweight MVP for an AI-powered compliance tool that helps manufacturers and suppliers manage chemical safety obligations. You’ll provide subject-matter expertise to validate outputs, define core compliance logic, and support QA of regulatory flags. You’ll work closely with a technical PM and support an LLM-driven backend team. Your Role You’ll act as a domain expert on chemical safety and SDS documentation, helping shape our early ruleset and validate model accuracy. Key Responsibilities Review SDS data for regulatory accuracy (CAS #, hazard codes, classifications) Define logic for key safety rules (e.g., label warnings, exposure thresholds) Help develop checklists or decision trees for evaluating risk triggers Validate summaries or outputs generated by an AI system Optional: Annotate SDS samples for training or fine-tuning Requirements ✅ 5+ years in SDS review, compliance auditing, or EHS/Regulatory Affairs ✅ Familiarity with OSHA HazCom, REACH, and Prop 65 standards ✅ Strong understanding of hazard classification (GHS) and labeling ✅ Comfortable working with structured data and reviewing draft reports ✅ Self-managed, async style (Notion + email updates) Nice to Have
