Experienced Full-Stack Web Developer with WordPress, PHP, and Advanced Front-End Skills

We are seeking an experienced web developer with a strong background in full-stack development, specializing in WordPress and modern web technologies. The ideal candidate will be proficient in setting up projects using Local by Flywheel, managing Git processes, and building scalable, reusable components across PHP, JavaScript/TypeScript, and WordPress. You will be responsible for developing and maintaining web projects, implementing custom themes, and ensuring seamless integration between front-end and back-end workflows. Project Responsibilities: Local by Flywheel & Git Integration: Set up new and existing projects in Local by Flywheel. Connect projects to Git repositories including GitHub Actions/Workflows. Manage pull requests, branch handling, conflict resolution, commits, and merging. Front-End Development (HTML, CSS/SCSS, JavaScript/TypeScript): Develop semantic and SEO-optimized HTML structures. Leverage CSS/SCSS best practices (BEM, variables, nesting, mixins, DRY principles, responsive styling, animations). Build reusable JavaScript/TypeScript components with efficient debugging and asynchronous code (async/await). Back-End Development (PHP, MySQL): Write reusable PHP components to support API querying, debugging, and sanitizing inputs. Formulate custom MySQL queries for complex scenarios where WP_Query falls short. WordPress Ecosystem Expertise: Develop custom WordPress themes and templates, including theme.json configuration and pattern handling. Work with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) for creating custom blocks, CPTs, conditional logic, get_field() functions, repeater fields, and load filtering. Extend WordPress using REST APIs, filters, actions, and WP queries. Enhance core block functionalities using WordPress JavaScript methods. Tooling & Package Management: Utilize NPM for troubleshooting, error resolution, compiling, and handling Webpack processes. Requirements: Proven experience with Local by Flywheel and GitHub integrations. Deep knowledge of Git workflows, including PR handling, branch management, conflict resolution, and merging. Advanced front-end skills using CSS/SCSS and JavaScript/TypeScript, ensuring responsive, maintainable code. Proficiency in PHP development, particularly within the WordPress ecosystem. Strong command of WordPress theme development, including working with theme.json and building core block extensions. Experience with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF) for building custom blocks and handling complex dynamic content. Ability to write and optimize custom MySQL queries. Familiarity with NPM, compiling tools, and troubleshooting build errors. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrated track record of building robust WordPress websites and applications. Experience designing reusable components and adhering to DRY principles. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to debug and optimize complex workflows. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a remote environment.
