Senior SEO Specialist (Local SEO Focus)

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced, analytical, and proactive Senior SEO Specialist with a proven track record in Local SEO to join our team. The ideal candidate will have at least six years of hands-on experience, specifically in developing and executing successful local search strategies that demonstrably improve client rankings, visibility, and lead generation. This role requires expert proficiency with core SEO tools (Ahrefs, BrightLocal, Google Search Console), a working knowledge of current LLMs and their impact on search, excellent client communication skills, and the ability to strategically manage and deliver results for a portfolio of approximately 40 clients. Key Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive, data-driven Local SEO strategies tailored to each client's specific goals and market (portfolio of ~40 clients). Create detailed, actionable SEO roadmaps for each client, outlining key initiatives, timelines, and expected outcomes. Develop and execute a structured onboarding plan for new clients, including initial audits, goal setting, and strategy kickoff. Conduct in-depth keyword research focused on local intent and opportunities. Optimize and manage Google Business Profiles (GBP) for clients, including posts, Q&A, photos, services, and review management strategies. Perform thorough technical SEO audits (site speed, mobile-friendliness, schema markup, site structure, crawlability, indexability) and provide actionable recommendations. Build and manage local citations, effectively ensuring NAP consistency across relevant directories, utilizing tools like BrightLocal. Utilize Ahrefs extensively for competitor analysis, backlink analysis/acquisition, keyword tracking, and content gap analysis. Monitor, analyze, and interpret website performance data using Google Search Console and Google Analytics (GA4), identifying trends, issues, and opportunities. Stay abreast of the latest SEO trends, search engine algorithm updates, industry best practices, and the evolving landscape of Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI in search; integrate this knowledge into client strategies. Develop and implement local link-building campaigns. Collaborate with content creators to ensure SEO best practices are integrated into local content strategies. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) such as rankings, organic traffic, leads, conversions, and ROI for each client. Prepare and deliver comprehensive monthly performance reports and regular progress updates to clients. Actively participate in and often lead client calls to discuss strategy, present findings/reports, address concerns, and build strong working relationships. Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders regarding client progress and needs. Required Qualifications & Skills: Minimum of 6 years of professional SEO experience, with a significant focus and demonstrable success in Local SEO. Proven track record of successfully ranking clients in local search results and achieving measurable business outcomes (e.g., increased calls, leads, foot traffic). Expert-level proficiency and hands-on experience with Ahrefs, BrightLocal, and Google Search Console are mandatory. Solid working knowledge of current Large Language Models (LLMs) and their practical applications and implications for SEO strategy, content generation, and the future of search. Demonstrated ability to strategically develop, document, manage, and execute SEO roadmaps for a substantial client load (capacity to handle ~40 clients effectively). Experience creating and implementing effective client onboarding processes. Deep understanding of local search ranking factors, algorithm nuances, and Google Business Profile optimization techniques. Strong experience with technical SEO principles and website audits. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate them into actionable insights.
