Seeking Experienced CTO (U.S.-Based) for Online Marketplace & AI App Development
Overview: We're seeking an entrepreneurial, highly organized CTO based in the U.S. to manage technology strategy and development for two separate projects OXMA and Sol Studio online. You'll act as the primary technical advisor, strategic partner, and operational manager, allowing the founder to focus on business growth and strategy. About the Founder: Clayton Knapp, founder of Condor Cold Storage (www.condorcoldstorage.com) – a successful real estate investment firm with 1.1M SF of cold storage properties nationally, is pursuing the development of an online cold storage marketplace called OXMA.co after identifying a need in the market. Separately, Clay is spearheading an initiative for his wife's pilates company Sol Studio to develop an AI powered on-demand pilates app to supplement the in-person studio experience. Sol Studio (www.sol-thestudio.com) is a successful and growing pilates brand based in Southern California with two locations currently with the goal of four to five studio locations by the end of 2026. OXMA.co (In Progress): A nationwide online cold storage marketplace currently in active development with a talented remote team based in Poland (Exore). Your role involves overseeing this existing team, driving technical strategy, ensuring efficient delivery, and handling high-level architectural and product decisions. AI-powered Pilates App (Sol Studio, From Scratch): A personalized consumer app for Sol Studio, leveraging AI and machine learning to provide individualized Pilates workouts. You'll be responsible for scoping, architecting, hiring/managing a development team (potentially the existing team or a new vendor), and executing a complete build from scratch. Key Responsibilities: - Provide strategic technical leadership and architecture direction for both platforms - Oversee development processes, manage technical teams (including hiring and supervising developers and engineers) - Guide AI integration and ensure robust, scalable back-end infrastructure - Collaborate closely with founders and stakeholders to align technology strategies with business objectives - Maintain clear communication and regular reporting on technical progress Required Qualifications: - Proven CTO or senior technical lead experience (7+ years preferred) - Solid understanding of marketplaces, SaaS architectures, and AI applications (machine learning models, LLMs, personalization algorithms) - Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) - Strong communication, reliability, and excellent project management skills - Based in the United States Bonus Qualifications: - Background in logistics tech, cold storage, or real estate technology - Previous experience developing consumer-facing health, fitness, or wellness apps - Entrepreneurial mindset with experience in startups or fast-paced environments To Apply: Please submit your resume/CV along with a message highlighting your relevant technical leadership experience, especially marketplaces, AI integration, or fitness-tech.
