Web Designer for WCAG Compliance & Mobile-Friendly Design
Description: We are looking for an experienced web designer to design a web payment application (part of our client's website, about 10 pages) to meet WCAG 2.1 AA compliance standards while ensuring a seamless mobile-friendly user experience. A second project involves a separate application involving call center software. The successful applicant should have excellent communication skills and be able to interact with our team and the end client to discuss requirements, updates, recommendations, and designs. Deliverables: Static design for client payment portal Recommendations for updating existing call center web app Participate in customer meetings Responsibilities: Review and analyze our current website for ADA WCAG compliance gaps. Implement necessary changes to ensure accessibility for all users, including those with disabilities. Optimize the UI/UX for mobile responsiveness across all devices. Ensure compatibility with screen readers, keyboard navigation, and other accessibility tools. Follow best practices for semantic HTML, ARIA roles, and color contrast ratios. Conduct usability testing and make iterative improvements. Requirements: Proven experience in web accessibility (WCAG 2.1/2.2 compliance). Strong skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks. Experience with responsive design and mobile-first development. Familiarity with accessibility testing tools like WAVE, Axe, or Lighthouse. Ability to document changes and provide recommendations for long-term accessibility maintenance.
