Title: Experienced Cosmetic Chemist – 1‑Hour Consult About Us We’re a direct‑to‑consumer skincare startup building a small, high‑performance line of serums and moisturizers that our personalized to everyone's microbiome. All our formulas emphasize microbiome‑friendly ingredients, gentle barrier support, and clean, efficacious actives. The Role We’re seeking an experienced Cosmetic Chemist Consultant to: Evaluate & Optimize our draft ingredient lists for each serum category Advise on stability, pH, preservative systems, texture, and packaging compatibility Recommend supplier networks for raw materials (prebiotics, peptides, acids, botanicals) Identify and vet contract manufacturers (CMOs) capable of small‑batch formulation and scale‑up Develop streamlined formulation protocols and QC specifications Train/Guide our team on best practices for reproducible mixing, testing, and compliance This is a project‑based, remote consulting engagement with the potential for ongoing collaboration as we expand our portfolio. Key Responsibilities Audit existing ingredient lists and suggest refinements for safety, efficacy, and brand alignment Propose optimized concentrations, co‑solvent/emulsifier systems, and pH buffers for each active Source reliable, cost‑effective suppliers of specialized actives (e.g., botanical extracts, peptides, prebiotics) Provide a shortlist of 2–3 CMOs with relevant capabilities (ISO‑certified, small‑batch flexibility, cosmetic GMP) Look at our process and provide feedback
