We are a fast-growing manufacturer of plant nutrients and agricultural products. We are seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer to help optimize our liquid handling and filling systems, focusing on automation and scaling production. This position requires experience in the design and automation of liquid dispensing systems, including both system integration and fluid dynamics. The goal is to optimize our current liquid filling system, enhance efficiency, and integrate automation for high-volume production. Responsibilities: -Evaluate and optimize our current liquid production system: Assess existing processes and design improvements to scale the liquid filling line for higher production volumes. -Design system upgrades: Create solutions to enhance the liquid dispensing, filling, capping, and packaging stages of the production line, ensuring seamless integration. -Implement automation: Develop and implement automated systems for liquid handling and filling, optimizing efficiency, reducing downtime, and maintaining product consistency. -Simulation and modeling: Use CAE tools (like ANSYS or COMSOL Multiphysics) to simulate fluid dynamics and ensure optimal performance in the liquid filling system. -Collaborate with the internal team to understand production constraints and provide solutions to overcome any obstacles in scaling the operation. -Custom system design: If necessary, work with 3D modeling tools like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Fusion 360 to design custom machinery or modify existing systems to meet the required production capacity. -Troubleshooting and system optimization: Address issues as they arise and develop long-term solutions for ongoing optimization. -Site visits (if necessary): Provide on-site consultation and oversee the installation of new equipment and systems in San Diego, CA. Qualifications: -Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related field. (Master’s degree a plus) -3+ years of experience in process engineering, especially in liquid handling and production systems. -Strong knowledge of fluid dynamics, automated systems, and manufacturing process optimization. -Experience with liquid filling systems, dispersing systems, and quality control. -Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Fusion 360) and CAE tools (ANSYS, COMSOL). -Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex production issues related to fluid handling. -Experience in working with automated manufacturing systems (PLC, SCADA) is highly desirable. -Willingness to travel for on-site consultations and equipment installations (travel costs covered). Preferred Experience: -Familiarity with food-grade or agricultural manufacturing standards and regulatory compliance. -Experience with 3D printing or rapid prototyping to design custom parts or test prototypes. -Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to enhance operational efficiency. Compensation: -Competitive hourly rate or project-based pricing. -Flexible schedule and remote work with occasional travel required for site visits. How to Apply: Please send your resume and a brief overview of your experience in optimizing liquid production systems. Why Work With Us?
