Experienced Full-Stack Developer for Gamified Multi-Seller Marketplace (Web MVP)
Job Description: We're building a web-based, multi-vendor marketplace platform for a niche e-commerce vertical. The platform will enable independent sellers to create customizable storefronts, list products, and engage with buyers in a gamified environment. We're looking for a highly skilled full-stack developer or small dev team to help build a responsive, modern MVP with long-term scalability in mind. This is not a basic Shopify-style store. Think of it more like a niche version of Etsy or StockX, where multiple vendors operate under a single marketplace experience — with some exciting engagement features layered in. Project Scope: The MVP will include: - Buyer and seller user roles, including storefront switching - Customizable seller storefronts (banners, logos, featured listings) - Global catalog system with search/filter capability - Cart & checkout system that supports multi-seller orders - Stripe integration with seller-specific payout logic - XP-based gamification system for buyers and sellers (XP, badges, progress levels) - Admin dashboard for moderation and oversight Ideal Tech Stack (Flexible): - Frontend: Next.js or React - Backend: Node.js or Firebase - Database: Firestore or PostgreSQL - Auth: Firebase Auth or custom OAuth - Payments: Stripe You Are: - Experienced with multi-vendor marketplaces - Comfortable building scalable systems with clean modular code - Familiar with gamification systems (XP, user leveling, badges) - Confident with Stripe API, including seller payouts and fee logic - Able to work in weekly sprints with check-ins and demos Deliverables: - MVP ready for closed beta in ~10–12 weeks - Full source code and documentation - Deployment assistance (Firebase or Vercel) Optional: Post-launch bug support or part-time follow-on engagement To Apply: Please include: - A short message explaining your marketplace and/or gamification experience - Links to similar platforms you’ve built (multi-vendor or e-commerce) - Your preferred tech stack and why - Any questions you’d like answered before quoting
