Expert Witness Needed: Florida-Certified Educator for K-12 Homeschooling Case
We are seeking an experienced Florida-certified K-12 educator to serve as an expert witness and/or educational consultant in a family court case involving a proposed change in educational modality from public school to homeschooling. The ideal candidate should have: Florida K-12 teacher certification (active or retired with credentials) Experience in curriculum planning, differentiated instruction, or working with gifted students Familiarity with Florida Department of Education homeschool statutes and reporting requirements Confidence to provide written documentation (e.g., affidavits, letters of opinion) and possibly testify if needed (remotely or in-person) Experience as an evaluator, school administrator, or instructional coach is a plus The consultant will be asked to: Review and provide feedback on an existing homeschool education plan Assess the appropriateness of homeschooling for a gifted 10-year-old student (straight-A student, high IQ, and competitive athlete) Possibly prepare a professional opinion or statement supporting the educational soundness of the plan Prior experience serving as an expert witness is helpful but not required. We are looking for someone who is articulate, detail-oriented, and understands the educational best interests of a child. This is a freelance/contract role, and we are looking to move forward quickly.
