CFA Charterholder or finance professor needed for online high school portfolio management course.
Smiforum is an online learning community for student fund managers. In September 2025, we will begin providing our high school students $1,000 a month to develop securities analysis and portfolio management skills. We are seeking a CFA Charterholder or an experienced Finance Professor to assist us with teaching the course. Ideally, you’d commit 1-2 hours weekly to communicate with our students via Zoom or Microsoft Teams. These meetings will be to discuss strategy and answer any questions they may have. We intend for the course to function as an elementary-level Investment Analysis course. We aim to introduce students to Value Investing, Market Research, and Financial Statement Analysis topics. Students will work in sector-based groups to identify investment opportunities in the U.S. equity markets and pitch their ideas to an advisory board for final approval. At the program's onset, students will not have access to commonly used financial databases and decision-making software. We will need assistance with developing a curriculum that teaches students how to find valuable companies based on the fundamentals. For ease of communication and responsibility, students will have positions ranging from analysts to fund managers to portfolio managers, as well as accountants and economists.
