IT Generalist to Support Property Management Business

We are seeking an experienced IT Consultant to support our business by providing routine maintenance and addressing non-routine IT challenges on an as-needed basis. This role involves enhancing our IT infrastructure through hardware upgrades, software updates, and network optimizations, with a focus on proactive improvement and security. Responsibilities: -Perform routine maintenance and assist with the upgrading of hardware, software, and network systems. -Implement and update best practices, including network security measures. -Manage mobile device management (MDM) updates for end-user computers. -Review and revise firewall configurations and monitor network security. -Provide consultation on projects aimed at enhancing documentation, redundancy, and network architecture. We currently use the following software/hardware - familiarity with some/all preferred: -Primarily Mac OS based but there are several Windows 10/11 desktops/laptops -iOS devices in the field with Zoho MDM -Sentintel 1 and Huntress AV -Windows Hyper-V servers with Windows 2019 and 2022 hosting VMs for FileMaker Pro, Quickbooks Enterprise -Synology NAS & iSCSI LUN -Watchguard firewall w/ multiple site-to-site VPNs -Unifi switches and APs -Sierra Wireless Airlink MP70 -Grandstream PBX and IP Phones -Data stored in AWS S3 and utilization of EC2 instances for other projects -Motorola Alta Aware camera system and Alta OpenPath access control -Amazon Workspaces Projects: -Comprehensive documentation -Redundancy -Review backup and long term storage and re-configure to best practices -Review firewall security/reconfigure -Implement best-practices firewall rules for site-to-site VPNs -Uptime/network/security monitoring -Network reconfiguration with security in mind This role requires a commitment of hours per month for routine tasks, with flexibility to support additional projects as needed. The ideal candidate will be forward-thinking, eager to improve our systems, and capable of working autonomously under minimal supervision. We are located in Valley Stream, NY. Physical proximity would be excellent but is not required.
