CAD Designer Needed for Renewable Energy Prototype – Fusion 360 Preferred

Project Description: A contractor is sought to develop 3D CAD models, technical drawings, and prepare simulation-ready files (for FEA and CFD analysis) for a modular renewable energy device currently in prototype design. The project requires high attention to mechanical detail and confidentiality. Full project materials and technical descriptions will be shared after execution of a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Responsibilities: • Create detailed 3D models of all components and assemblies. • Produce 2D fabrication drawings with appropriate material callouts. • Prepare mesh-ready models for FEA and CFD testing. • Recommend minor design refinements based on practical manufacturing considerations. • Provide deliverables in both native project files and standard export formats. Qualifications: • Proficiency in Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Inventor, or similar. • Experience modeling for FEA/CFD purposes. • Familiarity with rotating assemblies, material properties (aluminum, FRP, plastics), and mechanical fasteners. • Ability to work from technical descriptions and block diagrams with minimal supervision. • Strong file organization and documentation skills. • Professional communication and ability to meet project milestones. Work Approach: • Regular updates via Upwork messages, Zoom, or shared cloud platforms. • Preference for incremental delivery at key stages (initial design, assembly integration, final detailing). • All designs produced will be the exclusive property of the client. Requirements: • Signed NDA before project materials are released. • Availability for periodic video calls for design review. • Estimated timeline: 4–6 weeks for completion. Compensation: Negotiable based on experience. Portfolio examples of previous technical or energy system projects are strongly preferred. Long-term collaboration opportunities may follow successful project completion.
