We are seeking a talented 3D Character Artist and Animator to bring our main character—a rugged gorilla cowboy—to life. This role involves creating a fully rigged and animated 3D model compatible with the Godot Engine, capturing the unique blend of strength and humor that defines our protagonist. Responsibilities Design and model a stylized 3D gorilla cowboy character, incorporating elements like a cowboy hat, mechanical arm, and distinctive attire. Rig the character for animation, ensuring compatibility with Godot's animation system. Create a set of animations, including but not limited to: idle, walk, run, jump, attack, and special actions. Develop a modular system for character customization, allowing for future enhancements like clothing or accessory changes. Collaborate with the development team to integrate the character seamlessly into the game environment. Requirements Proven experience in 3D character modeling and animation, with a portfolio showcasing stylized characters. Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as Blender, Maya, or 3Ds Max. Experience with rigging and animating characters for game engines, specifically Godot. Strong understanding of anatomy, movement, and character design principles. Ability to create expressive facial animations and dynamic body movements. Familiarity with exporting and importing assets into the Godot Engine. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote team environment. Godot Forums Preferred Qualifications Experience with Godot 4.x and its animation tools. Knowledge of GDScript for integrating animations and character behaviors. Background in creating characters for action or adventure games. Understanding of performance optimization techniques for console platforms.
