Design a Hair Parting Holder

Right now, parting hair is still too complex for a machine to handle entirely on its own. With further ideation, that may change—but at this stage, I believe parting will need to remain a manual step. The goal is to create a hybrid process where a human stylist parts the hair and then places each parted section into a holding system. This setup allows the braiding device to easily locate, grab, and begin braiding the hair with precision. How the System Works: The device includes a flexible band that wraps around the user's head, aligning with the area where hair will be braided. Attached to this band are horizontal rods equipped with movable vertical pins or sticks: Horizontal rods can move up and down. Vertical pins can move left and right. Step-by-Step Process: The band is secured around the user's head. The stylist creates the first horizontal part at the nape of the neck. A horizontal rod moves into position and locks to hold the part. The stylist then makes a vertical part. A vertical pin moves into place to secure it. Each section of hair is placed into a holder. The braiding device then engages with the secured hair section and begins braiding. This process is repeated—row by row, block by block—until the full head is parted and braided.
