We are seeking a small MEP engineering firm or experienced MEP engineer with a strong background in modular and containerized construction. This project involves the complete design of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems for self-contained bathroom units housed inside 40-ft shipping containers. We are specifically looking for someone with proven experience in portable, modular, or containerized construction projects, who is comfortable designing systems using flushometer toilets and is confident working with commercial plumbing and drainage layouts. This is an ambitious, first-of-its-kind product we are bringing to market — not a conventional office building or standard modular project. The design will require a full HVAC system, dedicated ventilation design, and compliance with OSHA, IBC, IPC, and NEC standards applicable across all 50 U.S. states. We are looking for a proactive partner who can help ensure that all major systems are oversized for durability, simple to access and maintain, and optimized for use in high-traffic, rugged environments. Responsibilities: - Design plumbing system including flushometer toilet systems, venting, drainage, and water tanks - Design HVAC and ventilation systems for compact container environments - Design electrical layout, including OSHA-compliant internal wiring and load calculations - Ensure designs are practical for modular construction and easy future servicing - Recommend pipe sizes, slopes, ventilation strategies, and booster pump sizing as needed - Provide basic diagrams and calculations that clearly outline system performance - Advise on compliance to all relevant codes (IPC, UPC, NEC, IMC, IBC) - (Optional) Provide stamped drawings if licensed (not mandatory for this first phase)
