I am seeking an experienced electrical engineer or product development engineer to help design, build, and prototype a handheld LED vein finder device. This project requires strong expertise in LED beam control and ergonomic housing design. A critical goal is to optimize the light beam by having it reflect internally and prevent side leakage. The final beam must be focused, controlled, and meet or exceed the quality of leading competitors. Device Overview: Handheld vein visualization tool using red or near-infrared LEDs. Simple on/off switch (one click ON, one click OFF) with no complicated controls. Powered by disposable batteries (e.g., AA or AAA). Ergonomic, lightweight, durable body with a unique shape modification (will discuss) Scope of Work: Consult on LED selection (type, number, wavelength for vein illumination) Engineer internal light reflection system to control beam spread and avoid side leakage Design basic PCB or circuit if needed Create 3D CAD designs for ergonomic housing Recommend materials for light reflection, diffusion, and durability 3D print a working prototype and provide production-ready CAD files Ensure device meets or exceeds existing competitors' performance Ideal Candidate Should Have: Proven experience with LED optics, beam control, and medical or health-related device design (preferred but not required) Strong electrical engineering and mechanical engineering background Hands-on prototyping and 3D printing skills Ability to problem-solve creatively and communicate effectively Familiarity with ergonomic product design and FDA Class I device standards (a plus) Timeline: Start immediately.
