Power BI Query Expert and Database Design

We are looking for an experienced professional to design an optimized database structure and ensure seamless integration with Power BI. The role includes designing a the database schema, setting up Power BI queries, and solving complex data challenges. Our current setup involves power BI reports running off of excel You will be responsible for ensuring the database and Power BI work together to deliver accurate, efficient, and scalable reporting. Key Responsibilities: - Review our current reports and underlying data -design a database schema to support reporting needs. -Reconciling daily and monthly data (e.g., employees changing departments mid-month while revenue is recorded monthly). -Handling overlapping hierarchies where employees report to multiple managers based on assigned customers. - Design and implement optimized queries for Power BI reports, ensuring efficient data retrieval and calculations. -Create relationships, calculated measures, and aggregations to support reporting needs. -Ensure data quality and consistency between the database and Power BI reports. -Optimize the database for fast and efficient query performance, especially for Power BI. -Ensure that Power BI reports refresh quickly and handle large data volumes effectively. Requirements: -Proven experience designing and managing relational databases for Power BI. -Expertise in Power BI query development, including DAX, data modeling, and relationships. -Experience handling complex data challenges, such as time-series data and hierarchical reporting. -Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
