Project Overview: We are a digital news and media company based in Central Texas publishing a full-color Area Guide (100–136 pages). We’re seeking a skilled magazine designer with experience in editorial layout, ad integration, and print production. The ideal candidate has a sharp eye for visual hierarchy, understands magazine pacing, and knows how to make content visually compelling. Key Responsibilities: Design complete magazine layout using Adobe InDesign Place and format editorial content, ads, TOC, feature stories, and recurring sections Collaborate with in-house editors and ad designers to ensure cohesive design Prepare print-ready files to printer specs (bleed, margins, CMYK, etc.) Maintain consistent style and branding across the publication ✅ Requirements: 3+ years experience in magazine or editorial design Strong proficiency with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator Solid understanding of typography, color, and white space Ability to work with ad placements and editorial content simultaneously Experience working with commercial printers (perfect-bound publications preferred) Portfolio with 2–3 examples of full magazine spreads or publications preferred
