1. Introduction a. The End User seeks a Work For Hire agreement with an experienced Pine Script coder (Contractor) to automate the functionality of the “Koala algorithm” for implementation in live futures trading on the TradingView platform i. The algorithm as written is described in a theoretical basis document and this project scope is limited to the functionality described 1. That ATBD will be provided to the Contractor at the outset to determine feasibility and cost/scheduling ii. Future projects may include enhancements to the algorithm or the automation of other algorithms b. The Koala algorithm is a comprehensive mechanical trading algorithm designed to profit from large price swings in futures contracts i. The strategy can be applied to any futures contract in any time frame c. The strategy uses drawings, specifically trend lines and support/resistance lines (S/R lines), drawn over standard candlestick charts i. The strategy specifies rules for creating the drawings based on numerical user inputs d. Entries and exits are based on price breaking through trend lines and S/R lines, a series of tests regarding the attributes of the candlestick(s) that break through the lines, and tests of the portfolio’s ability to accommodate the new position 2. Objective a. Use Pine Script through TradingView to automate the Koala algorithm so that it executes orders, in real time, according to the user-defined parameters input by the end user i. The user will be responsible for selecting and updating from a list of user-defined parameters that affect how lines are drawn on the chart, the interpretation of candlestick price action, and position sizing ii. The Pine Script code will execute the algorithm without ongoing intervention by the end user b. Use Pine Script through TradingView to backtest the algorithm on futures contracts charts including continuation charts and specific contract charts, to see how the returns and risks respond to changes to the user defined inputs i. A typical TradingView backtest output is acceptable to include: total P&L, max equity drawdown, total trades, profitable trades percentage, profit factor, win rate, reward-to-risk ratio, and market conditions analysis 3. Tasks a. Write and test Pine Script code for use as described in the Koala Algorithm Theoretical Basis Document 4. Deliverables and Milestones a. Deliverables and milestones will be mutually agreed upon at the outset of the engagement 5. Timeline a. A timeline for project deliverables and completion of the project will be suggested by the Contractor 6. Contractor and End User Responsibilities a. The Contractor will respond to requests for progress updates or clarification on the use of code in a timely fashion b. The Contractor will alert the end user to any functionality limitations as soon as they are discovered c. The Contractor will assist the end user in working with the code, as written d. The Contractor will adhere to the terms outlined in this scope of work and Work For Hire agreement e. The End User will respond promptly to requests for clarification on logic loops and any definition within the Koala algorithm i. The End User will be responsible for responses as in depth as required by The Contractor f. The End User will pay promptly, and for all time spent on the project, including any consultations on the use of the code, according to the mutually agreed upon schedule of payments 7. Adoption Plan a. Upon completion of the project the End User will apply the algorithm to live trading 8. Current Project Status a. The End User has worked with AI to begin coding the rules for drawing trend lines and run into the limits of AI to resolve AI generated typos/unidentified user inputs i. Currently 100 lines of code have been written and are functional 1. Current code can successfully draw A-B rays according to the user-defined look back period and the ray window as input by the user ii. That code will be made available to the Contractor along with any clarifying discussions with AI that may be helpful
