Fractional Financial Controller About the position Role: Fractional Financial Controller Reports to: President / CEO Location: Virtual / Hybrid, Ventura, CA As the Fractional Controller, you will work in collaboration with the leadership team at Strand Products, a well-established manufacturing company, and play a vital role in supporting financial health, compliance, and strategy across the organization. You will lead the financial management and compliance for a company of 50 employee-owners and a management team of eight, including a president/CEO and finance/human resources manager. Your role will also include a significant strategic advisory component, partnering with the CEO and leadership team to bring about strategic growth and success. You will help identify trends, evaluate capital investments, guide cost analysis, and provide forward-looking insight into the business’s financial trajectory. You will oversee the accounting function and lead the Finance/Human Resources Manager to ensure financial accuracy, strong internal controls, and data-driven decision-making. You will be instrumental in preparing financial statements, managing cash flow, optimizing budgeting processes, and contributing to long-term financial planning. You will be responsible for maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations and certifications, while also bringing financial insights and leadership to expand capabilities, improve performance, and manage risk. You will facilitate continuous improvement across accounting systems and financial workflows, and may play a role in ERP enhancements, pricing strategies, and financial modeling as we evolve to meet customer needs and company growth goals. What You’ll Do ● Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes ● Prepare and analyze financial statements and reports in compliance with GAAP ● Prepare monthly financial statements and reporting to financial institutions ● Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow planning ● Ensure compliance with tax, legal, and regulatory standards ● Support cost accounting, margin analysis, and job/project profitability reporting ● Assist with audit preparation and serve as liaison to external CPA/tax firm ● Contribute to the development of internal controls and policies ● Guide ERP system improvement and reporting functionality ● Collaborate with leadership on capital planning and cost efficiency strategies Who You Are ● Experienced: 7+ years in accounting/financial leadership, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Familiarity with GAAP and cost accounting in manufacturing ● Analytical: You have a sharp eye for details and a passion for turning numbers into insights ● Strategic: You bring big-picture thinking to financial systems and help guide future growth ● Ethical & Trustworthy: You are dependable, discreet, and adhere to the highest ethical standards ● Organized: You manage details, deadlines, and documentation with precision and clarity ● Collaborative: You work well with teams across departments and value transparent communication ● ITAR Compliant: This position requires the use of information subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
