Overview: We’re a fast-growing tech startup building the future of video processing for professional film producers. Our platform is designed for high-performance media workflows, handling RAW 8K footage, automated processing, and lightning-fast transfers at scale. To keep pace with demand, we need help optimizing our high-speed network. What We’re Looking For: We're seeking an experienced network engineer to help us configure and optimize a Dell EMC PowerSwitch S5048F-ON as part of a 10 / 25 / 100 GBE network. The goal is ultra-low latency and maximum throughput to support our high-performance computing (HPC) cluster and video production workflow. Project Details: Switch: Dell EMC PowerSwitch S5048F-ON Servers: 10x Supermicro X10 / X11 nodes running Quobyte for distributed file access with microsecond latency NICs: Mellanox ConnectX-5 (Linux/Windows), ATTO FastFrame (macOS) Workload: Ingesting and editing 4TB+ shuttles of RAW 8K video (500+ Mbps throughput per stream) Environment: Relocated to a new facility; prior configuration was incomplete due to a problematic vendor. The switch may need a full reconfiguration—whatever is fastest and cleanest. Your Role: Reconfigure or reset and set up the Dell switch for optimal performance Ensure clean connectivity and low-latency file access across the network Validate throughput between servers and workstations Provide guidance on best practices for NIC tuning (Mellanox, ATTO) Advise on or implement firmware/driver updates if needed Qualifications: Proven experience configuring Dell switches in high-speed network environments (10G/25G/100G) Familiarity with tuning NICs and system parameters for low-latency, high-throughput media workflows Understanding of storage systems, ideally Quobyte or similar parallel file systems Bonus if you’ve worked in post-production or media environments What We Provide: On-site support (we’re technical and can assist hands-on) Access to all hardware and infrastructure needed to complete the job A collaborative, responsive environment; we’re ready to move quickly To Apply: Please tell us about your experience with: Dell switches and advanced configuration Tuning networks and NICs for performance Any relevant projects in post-production, HPC, or storage clusters Also, let us know what access or information you would need to begin the work.
