As we scale our operations and data management capabilities, we're looking for a skilled Platform Architect to create a robust technical foundation for our business. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Platform Architect with strong database administration expertise to design and implement a comprehensive technology architecture that will support our business operations, project management workflows, and data analytics needs. The ideal candidate will translate our business requirements into a scalable, secure, and efficient technology stack that enables growth and operational excellence. Additionally, the architecture should be designed with AI integration capabilities in mind, as we plan to layer artificial intelligence solutions on top of our core data infrastructure. Key Responsibilities Develop a holistic enterprise architecture strategy aligned with our business objectives and growth plans Design database schemas, data models, and data flows optimized for our renewable energy project lifecycle Evaluate and recommend appropriate database technologies (SQL, NoSQL, time-series, etc.) based on our specific use cases Create integration frameworks to connect disparate systems including project management tools, financial systems, and operational technology data sources Design data security protocols and implement robust backup and recovery procedures Establish data governance policies and ensure regulatory compliance Architect scalable cloud infrastructure that balances performance, cost, and flexibility Develop technical specifications and documentation for development teams Create migration strategies for existing systems and data Provide technical leadership and mentorship on database best practices Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions Design the data architecture with AI and machine learning applications in mind, ensuring data structures are optimized for future AI implementation Create a roadmap for incorporating AI capabilities into the platform, focusing on areas with highest business impact Qualifications 10-15 years of experience in platform/solution architecture roles Strong expertise in database administration, design, and optimization Experience designing and implementing cloud-based architectures (AWS, Azure, or GCP) Proven track record of creating successful technology architectures for growing businesses Proficiency with multiple database technologies (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, SQL Server) Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes, and business intelligence solutions Knowledge of microservices architecture, API design, and integration patterns Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines Experience with data security, compliance, and governance frameworks Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (Master's preferred) Preferred Experience Career progression from coding/software engineering to development to programming leadership roles, demonstrating hands-on technical expertise and breadth of knowledge Experience writing production-level code in multiple languages (e.g., Java, Python, C#) Background in application development before moving into architecture roles Track record of successful technical implementations from ground-up coding to system design Previous work in energy, utilities, or project-centric industries Experience with IoT data architectures or operational technology systems Knowledge of renewable energy project development workflows Experience designing systems for regulatory compliance in energy sectors Familiarity with time-series databases and analytics platforms Understanding of AI/ML infrastructure requirements and how to build AI-ready data platforms Experience with data lake architectures that support machine learning applications Knowledge of modern AI platforms and integration approaches What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience Opportunity to shape the technological foundation of a growing renewable energy company Collaborative and innovative work environment Contract-to-hire potential for the right candidate
