As we continue to scale, we’re looking for a hands-on, experienced Human Resources Lead to take ownership of all HR functions and help shape the future of our workforce. Position Summary: The Human Resources Lead will be responsible for overseeing and executing all core HR functions, including compliance with California labor laws, payroll (through Gusto), employee relations, recruitment, and policy development. This is a full-time, on-site role ideal for a proactive, detail-oriented professional with a strong grasp of both strategic and day-to-day HR operations in a manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: • Manage transition of certain employees from parent entity to wholly owned subsidiary with no gaps in benefits and pay Ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and regulations, especially those relevant to California employers • Manage all aspects of payroll, time tracking, and employee data administration using Gusto — previous administrator-level experience required • Develop, implement, and update HR policies, procedures, and employee handbooks • Lead employee relations, performance management, and internal investigations with fairness and consistency • Support full-cycle recruiting, onboarding, and offboarding processes • Oversee benefits administration and annual open enrollment in collaboration with brokers and Gusto • Maintain accurate, organized employee records and documentation • Advise leadership on organizational development, workforce planning, and company culture initiatives • Coordinate training, compliance, and development programs for staff at all levels Qualifications: • 5+ years of progressive HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment • Demonstrated administrator-level experience with Gusto, including payroll, benefits, and employee lifecycle management • In-depth knowledge of California labor and employment laws • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills • Self-motivated, highly organized, and comfortable working independently • HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) is a plus • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred What We Offer: • Competitive salary and benefits • Direct impact and ownership in a growing company • A supportive, collaborative work environment • Beautiful location in Ventura, California
