Desiree is a start-up focused on eliminating costly re-deliveries for packages that require a signature upon receipt. The company is developing an innovative and simple approach to ensure these packages can be delivered on a first attempt. Desiree is looking for an experienced individual to be the company’s Chief Architect and initial developer. The person should have a strong ability to both design and build software for mobile devices in addition to APIs for integration with specialized equipment. Qualified candidates will be able to work with the company’s founder in defining product capabilities and interfaces appropriate to a target market. This is initially an un-paid position with founder’s equity based on milestone achievement. Remote work is no problem, but candidates should have a minimum of 10-15 hours/week to dedicate to this project. Technical Skills: - Proficiency in programming languages commonly used for API development, such as JavaScript (Node.js), Python, Java, Ruby, or PHP. - Experience with frameworks and libraries relevant to API development (e.g., Express.js, Flask, Spring Boot, etc.). Database Knowledge: - Familiarity with SQL and NoSQL databases (e.g., MySQL, MongoDB) and experience in designing and optimizing database schemas. Understanding of Web Technologies: - Strong knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS protocols, RESTful principles, and data formats like JSON and XML. Security Practices: - Understanding of best practices for API security, including authentication, authorization, and data protection methods. Testing and Debugging Skills: - Experience with testing frameworks and tools for APIs, as well as a strong problem-solving mindset for debugging issues. Version Control: - Proficiency in using version control systems (e.g., Git) for code management and collaboration.
