Ideal Candidate Profile Education PhD or Master’s in one of the following: Climate Risk or Environmental Science with modeling focus Actuarial Science, Insurance & Risk Management Civil or Environmental Engineering (emphasis on hazard mitigation) Applied Statistics or Data Science (with heavy domain experience) Experience 10+ years in real estate or property insurance risk modeling, ideally: At insurance/reinsurance firms (e.g., Swiss Re, RMS, Verisk) Or real estate investment groups with in-house risk analytics teams Deep understanding of: Catastrophe risk modeling frameworks (AIR, RMS, etc.) Historical and predictive data on climate-exacerbated hazards Risk-based pricing strategies and portfolio risk optimization Familiar with using or interpreting: FEMA flood maps, NOAA data, Four Twenty Seven, ClimateCheck, Redfin’s climate APIs ESG/TCFD regulatory expectations for property-level risk disclosures Bonus: Has presented or published on future-state property risks, or advised insurers on climate transition models
