We are looking for talented male and female voice actors to contribute to a voice recording project. Actors will perform scripted sentences in U.S. English, delivering lines with a range of specified emotions. Each actor may record up to 20 hours of speech audio, with the estimated total project time being approximately 100 working hours. This recorded speech data will contribute to the development of speech synthesis technology. Requirements: 1. Clear, expressive voice with the ability to perform different emotions. 2. High-quality, professional microphone and recording equipment to ensure clean audio capture. 3. Access to a quiet recording environment that mimics an at-home studio setup. 4. Prior experience in acting, voice acting or narration. 5. Native U.S. English speaker (no regional accent) Here's how it works: 1. Register: If you meet the requirements listed above, we will send you a URL to do a quick simple 5 line audition. See attachment. 2. Pre-Screening: On our registration and screening platform, you’ll complete a brief questionnaire with your basic information and submit five sample recordings of scripted lines. 3. Review: After submitting your samples, our Quality Assurance team will review them to determine if you’re a fit for the final audition phase. Selection is based on confirmation of your neutral U.S. English voice (free of regional influences), your ability to convey the intended emotions of each script, and basic audio quality (or clear potential to achieve the required quality with guidance). 4. Final Audition: If your initial samples meet our criteria, you will receive a follow-up e-mail with instructions for the next steps. You’ll be asked to schedule a session with our project lead who will set you up with our recording platform and guide you through the first few recordings of a ~35-line script. Your audition will be checked for acting performance, script adherence, and audio quality. You may be required to re-record specific lines to ensure they meet our quality standards. 5. Main Collection Recordings: Once your Audition is approved, you will advance to the main collection phase. At this stage, you’ll begin recording for the project and receive payment as outlined in the section below. Compensation: 1. We offer a flat rate starting at $150 per speech hour recorded, which consists of 2 recorded files. 2. Each file contains approximately 30 minutes of recorded speech. 3. Completing one file is estimated to take 2-3 labor hours to complete, while one full speech hour is estimated to take 4-6 labor hours. 4. Participants are expected to complete up to 40 files total. 5. Payment is within two weeks after the final approval of each completed file. Weekly Incentive Tiers: From Monday to Sunday if you finish the following number of files your cost per file will increase: 1-5 files = &75 per file ($150 per recorded hour) 6-11 files = $100 per file ($200 per recorded hour) 12+ files = $125 per file ($250 per recorded hour)
