Hi, I recently won a government contract focused on public relations and strategic communications. I'm looking to bring on a graphic designer (no agencies, just individuals) to support a year-long communications initiative for a U.S. federal agency. You'll collaborate closely with a boutique PR team to design visuals that are clear, accessible, aligned with federal branding standards — and still visually engaging. The work will range from formal reports and stakeholder materials to social media graphics and presentations. What You’ll Be Designing: Presentation decks (internal and external briefings) One-pagers, fact sheets, and stakeholder toolkits Annual report layout (130+ pages, due January 2026) 4–5 social media graphics per month Occasional special event materials and milestone content While this isn't a full-time role, the design workload may average up to ~25 hours per month, depending on timelines and deliverables. You Should Be Someone Who: 1) Works independently — no agencies 2) Has strong layout, composition, and visual hierarchy skills 3) Can follow a federal style guide and still make it feel human 4) Familiar with rapid-turnaround workflows, especially in response to urgent news 5) Has experience with nonprofits, public institutions, or government projects (or is eager to learn) 6) Understands the difference between filler content and creative that converts 7) Doesn’t rely on cookie-cutter templates or generic graphics To Apply: Please send: 1) Your estimated monthly flat-rate or deliverable-based pricing 2) 2–3 work samples (preferably reports, toolkits, presentation decks, or social media graphics that show you can fulfill the contract)
