Instructional Designer for Health Equity Courses

Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled Instructional Designer (Contractor) to transform subject matter expert (SME) content into engaging, high-quality eLearning modules. The ideal candidate will have experience writing compelling video scripts and—ideally—supporting production to enhance learner engagement. Key Responsibilities: Work collaboratively with HealthBegins and external stakeholders to outline, storyboard, script, refine, and produce eLearning modules. Translate knowledge from Healthbegins stakeholders into accessible, relevant learning for the audience Develop instructional materials, including video scripts, storyboards, and interactive e-modules based on content provided by HealthBegins' team. Ensure content aligns with adult learning principles and instructional design best practices. Adhere to project timelines and ensure deliverables meet high-quality standards. (Bonus) Provide production support, such as basic video editing, voiceover coordination, or working with external vendors. Qualifications: Strong storytelling and scriptwriting skills, particularly for instructional videos and microlearning modules. Experience in instructional design, eLearning development, and/or educational media production. Demonstrated success in learner engagement and outcomes. Proficiency with Thinkific (or similar LMS platforms) and eLearning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Rise, Adobe Captivate). Experience and/or familiarity with public health, population health, and/or medical terminology and concepts Familiarity with social determinants of health, health equity, or public health topics (Bonus) Experience with video production tools and basic multimedia editing Contract Details: Remote, project-based contract with potential for ongoing collaboration. Competitive compensation based on experience and scope of work. Project examples: - off the shelf e-course on a health equity topic (~1 hour of e-course material). Masterclass style. - e-modules focused on supporting healthcare organizations with embedding equity into their organization (~1.5 hrs of e-course material). Style TBD
