We are seeking a skilled and experienced IT contractor to perform a thorough diagnosis of our website's speed and performance issues and work directly with our existing programmers to implement and optimize solutions. Project Overview: Our website is experiencing performance lags, including slow page loads, inconsistent response times, and occasional timeouts (especially mobile device response time). Mobile response is our top priority! We need an expert who can quickly identify bottlenecks and provide actionable fixes to ensure optimal speed, stability, and user experience. Responsibilities: Conduct a comprehensive audit of website speed and performance (front-end and back-end) Identify root causes of slow load times, server response issues, asset optimization problems, etc. Work directly with our developers to guide and assist in implementing performance enhancements Recommend best practices for caching, image compression, CDN usage, lazy loading, etc. Test and benchmark improvements to ensure measurable speed gains Provide documentation of changes and performance improvements Ideal Candidate: Proven experience in diagnosing and resolving website performance issues Strong knowledge of web architecture, front-end optimization, and server-side performance tuning Familiarity with tools like Google PageSpeed Insights, GTmetrix, WebPageTest, Lighthouse, etc. Comfortable working collaboratively with in-house or remote development teams Clear communicator with the ability to provide technical guidance and actionable recommendations Bonus Skills: Familiarity with our tech stack (let us know and we’ll share specifics) Experience with WordPress, Shopify, or custom CMSs (if applicable) SEO performance optimization experience Project Type: Short-term project with potential for longer-term collaboration depending on performance and fit.
