RFM Productions is seeking an experienced Book Publisher to take a 50,000-word manuscript and bring it to market through a comprehensive global distribution and marketing strategy. The selected publisher will manage the publishing, marketing, and sales efforts of the book, ensuring its availability across major trade and specialty retail channels. Responsibilities: • Publish and distribute the manuscript in print and digital formats. • Secure and manage trade distribution via Publishers Group West (example: PGW) and its extensive national and international account network. • Ensure sales representation to major book retailers and wholesalers, including: • Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Follett, Baker & Taylor, Books-a-Million, Ingram, and 2,400+ independent booksellers. • Mass merchandise accounts such as Walmart, Costco, Sam’s Club, and Hudson. • Gift and special sales channels. • Promote the book through attendance at major trade shows and industry events, including: • NY Now, Atlanta Market, Las Vegas Market, PLA, Outdoor Retailer, and Museum Store Association events. • Develop marketing initiatives for direct mail catalogs, specialty wholesalers, educational wholesalers, and web-based specialty retailers. • Expand library market presence, including participation in the American Library Association (ALA) and other key events. • Implement global marketing efforts to maximize visibility and sales potential. Qualifications: • Proven track record in book publishing and global distribution. • Established relationships with places like PGW, national and international book retailers, wholesalers, and specialty sales channels. • Experience marketing books through trade shows, direct mail campaigns, and library sales. • Ability to execute a global marketing strategy that increases sales and visibility. • Strong editorial, production, and distribution experience.
