BACKGROUND • Diamond Packaging is an award-winning industry leader in upscale folding cartons. Our thoughtful and sustainable carton designs provide the perfect medium for brands looking to capture the consumers attention. Our highly decorated cartons aren’t just aesthetically pleasing – they tell a compelling story of value proposition and versatile innovation. OBJECTIVE • Redesign a modern and refreshed flowchart for Diamond’s Zero Waste to Landfill initiative. AUDIENCE • Vendors, current and perspective customers and their end consumers. CUSTOMER TRUTHS • Eco-friendly packaging has been in high demand. Our target markets seek environmentally friendly products that result in a lower cardon footprint without sacrificing quality, structural integrity, and user-friendliness. KEY MESSAGES • Beauty without compromise. Diamond cares about social responsibility as much as we care about customer satisfaction. We’re passionate collaborators trying to nurture positive relationships through sustainable practices. Our flowchart should be a beacon to illustrate those practices and our devoted commitment to decreasing our corporate carbon footprint. LOOK & FEEL • Bolder, more modern aesthetic. Hint of luxury. We want the flowchart to capture motion and movement to mimic our circular economy while matching the visual impact we produce for our customers. It should have more personality. Our current logo/flowchart is stiff and stale. It tells a story, but it’s not speaking loud enough. We want it to be heard from across the room. The colored dots should be replaced by images that better represent each component of our collaborative ecosystem (i.e. recycling logos for metal, hazardous waste, etc.) We don’t want the imagery to look like it was plucked from clip art or stock photos like it does now. MANDATORY ELEMENTS • Diamond’s ZWTLF logo, partner logos (reference attachment), and the circular shape to remain. We also ask that you utilize our corporate colors (PMS 288, PMS 279) and typography (Barlow Condensed, Roboto).
