Expertise in typography, layout design, and industry-standard tools (Adobe InDesign, Affinity Publisher, or Vellum) is required. Previous experience with script formatting, theatrical books, or educational publishing is a plus. Project Scope Script Formatting & Minimal Proofreading: Convert a finalized script of the audio drama into a professionally formatted book for print and digital formats with an authentic script-like style, font, and aesthetic (1968 era, typewriter-style fonts, faux stamps, and period-accurate elements). Cover Design Adaptation: Modify the original audiobook cover to give it a theater script feel (e.g., aged/yellowed paper, typewriter font, possible faux production notes). Illustrations: A total of 12 illustrations required, placed strategically throughout the scriptbook: Act Break Pages: 1 image per act break (3 total). Scene Illustrations: 3 additional full images per act (9 total). Song Lyrics Integration: Inclusion of 9 song lyric clips throughout the book. Front & Back Matter Integration: Design and incorporate acknowledgments, copyright page, educational resources, and other essential pages. IngramSpark File Preparation: Ensure final files meet all technical specifications for smooth upload and approval. Our goal is to ensure clear expectations upfront and prevent unexpected revisions or costs after hiring. Scope Agreement: The base project scope will be established before the final contract, ensuring a clear understanding of all design, illustration, and formatting expectations. Cost Control: To avoid scope creep and unexpected costs, we will: Decide in advance how many illustrations, lyric additions, and front/back matter pages are required. Pinpoint specific locations for all extras before finalizing the agreement. To ensure continuity and efficiency while avoiding unnecessary delays, we will agree in advance on the number of revision rounds allowed for each stage of the project. The publisher and designer will collaborate closely, but to keep the project on schedule, we will limit revisions to three (3) iterations per major phase (e.g., concept, script formatting, cover design, and illustrations). This structured approach ensures that necessary refinements are made while preventing endless back-and-forth revisions that could stall progress.
