Request for Proposals (RFP): Report Designer for the GIIN’s 2025 Publications

The Global Impact Investing Network (GIIN) is seeking proposals from qualified report designers to create a visually engaging, professional and on-brand design for our upcoming reports. The ideal designer will have experience in compelling data visualization, cause-driven or impact-focused design, with the ability to incorporate our brand elements while presenting data clearly and effectively. About GIIN: The GIIN is a global leader in impact investing, dedicated to expanding the scale and effectiveness of the field around the world. We work to demonstrate how finance can be a force for good. Our reports, publications and resources are central to sharing our work, amplifying our impact and reaching stakeholders worldwide. Scope of Work: The selected report designer will be responsible for: - Designing using the GIIN’s branded elements: Incorporating the GIIN’s established branding, including logos, color schemes, fonts and graphic elements, to ensure consistency with our visual identity. - Incorporating pull-out and call-out boxes: Designing attention-grabbing pull-out boxes and call-out sections that highlight key insights, quotes, or data within the report. - Full-color layouts: Creating full-color designs throughout the report, ensuring that the design enhances readability and visual appeal. - Chart and graph design: Creating professional, easy-to-read charts and graphs that effectively present data and key findings, while aligning with GIIN's visual style. - Authors' alterations: Accommodating changes or alterations from report authors, ensuring that the final design accurately reflects their edits and adjustments. - Final deliverables: Providing print-ready and digital files (PDF and editable versions, if applicable) of the completed report design, ready for distribution and presentation. Additionally, we will need the native files for all tables and graphs. Proposal Requirements: Interested parties should submit a comprehensive proposal that includes: - Individual/company profile: Overview of your background and experience in report or publication design, particularly in the nonprofit or impact investing sectors. - Portfolio: Samples of previous report designs, including any relevant projects that showcase your ability to integrate branding, data visualization, and complex content. - Design approach: A brief outline of your approach to the project, including how you plan to incorporate GIIN's branding and meet the specific design requirements of this report. - Timeline: A detailed timeline for the design process, including key milestones, from the initial design concept to the final delivery of the report. - Rates: Provide a breakdown of your rates, including design fees, any additional costs for revisions, or specialized requests. - References: Include at least two references who can speak to the quality of your work and your professionalism. Submission Instructions: Submit your proposal no later than March 14, 2025. Late submissions will not be considered. Evaluation Criteria: Proposals will be evaluated based on the following: - Experience and qualifications: Proven expertise in report or publication design, with a strong portfolio that demonstrates high-quality design, attention to detail, and understanding of brand guidelines. - Creativity and design skills: Ability to create visually appealing layouts that highlight key content, maintain a consistent design flow, and integrate data clearly through charts, graphs, and other visual elements. - Alignment with the GIIN’s brand: Experience in working with branding guidelines or successfully integrating specific brand elements into creative designs. - Cost-effectiveness: Competitive pricing for the scope of work, considering the project's complexity and required deliverables. Selection Process: After reviewing all proposals, selected candidates may be invited for an interview or discussion to clarify any questions and review design approaches. The final decision will be based on the overall quality of the proposal, the designer’s experience and their alignment with GIIN's objectives.
