We are looking for a talented and creative social media content creator to grow Medium's official presence on Bluesky. This role will focus on highlighting and promoting writers on Medium.com while engaging with the Bluesky community. Project Goals * Amplify Medium Writers: Showcase the diverse talent on Medium, including general writers, academic writers, high-profile authors, and emerging voices. * Promote the Medium Newsletter: Increase visibility of the Medium Newsletter and featured writers (medium.com/newsletter). * Highlight Staff Picks: Draw attention to noteworthy stories featured in Medium's Staff Picks section. * Engage in relevant conversations: Actively participate in discussions around writing, thinking, productivity, self-development, and creativity. Approach * Target audience: Writers, media professionals, academic writers, and individuals interested in writing or reading on Medium. * Platform focus: Manage Medium's official Bluesky account (bsky.app/profile/medium.com), creating compelling content that resonates with Bluesky's unique culture. * Content strategy: Post links, create engaging threads, reply to relevant conversations, and grow our account presence through consistent, high-quality content. Responsibilities * Create and schedule engaging content on a daily basis. * Share compelling links to and/or screenshots of articles from Medium writers, the Medium Newsletter, and publications. * Repost, respond to, or comment on posts from Medium writers, readers, or publications who are actively using Bluesky. * Participate in relevant conversations and thought-provoking discussions. * Respond to comments and messages promptly. * Engage in relevant communities and build relationships with key voices on the platform. * Grow followers, reach, and engagement metrics. Required Skills Proven experience in social media management and content creation. Strong writing and communication skills. Understanding of Bluesky's unique culture and audience. Strategies to build an audience in a newer social media environment. Knowledge of the Medium platform and writing community. Ability to engage with an audience and foster meaningful connections. Experience using Bluesky and understanding its specific features and community dynamics.
