Job Title: ADA Title II & WCAG Compliance Consultant Location: Remote / On-site (as required) Job Type: Contract / part-time Introduction: We are seeking a knowledgeable and experienced ADA Title II & WCAG Compliance Consultant to support our efforts in ensuring digital and physical accessibility in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), specifically Title II, and the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1/2.2 for a public agency. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of legal requirements for accessibility in public entities, and the technical skills necessary to evaluate, recommend, and help implement accessibility improvements across digital platforms and public services. Key Responsibilities: Conduct comprehensive accessibility audits of websites, web applications, mobile platforms, and facilities in accordance with Title II of the ADA and WCAG 2.1/2.2 standards. Provide actionable recommendations to remediate accessibility barriers for individuals with disabilities in digital environments. Work with design, development, and content teams to implement accessibility best practices. Deliver training and workshops to staff on ADA Title II obligations, digital accessibility, and inclusive design. Support the creation or refinement of ADA Transition Plans and Self-Evaluation Plans. Draft and review policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure ongoing compliance with accessibility laws and guidelines. Stay up-to-date on evolving federal and state accessibility regulations, legal cases, and WCAG updates. Engage with stakeholders including people with disabilities to ensure inclusive solutions are developed and maintained. Qualifications: Proven experience in ADA Title II compliance and digital accessibility consulting. In-depth knowledge of WCAG 2.1/2.2 and other accessibility standards (e.g., Section 508, ARIA). Experience with accessibility testing tools (e.g., Axe, WAVE, JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver). Familiarity with ADA Transition Plans and conducting physical accessibility evaluations. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information to non-technical audiences. Ability to interpret legal and technical standards and apply them to a variety of public-facing contexts. Preferred: CPACC or WAS certification from the International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP). Preferred Background: Experience working with public sector organizations (e.g., municipalities, state agencies, educational institutions). Legal or regulatory compliance background in accessibility law. Experience conducting community engagement or usability testing with people with disabilities.
