Job Description: Sales Development Specialist Position Title: Sales Development Specialist Location: Remote Employment Type: Part-Time (with potential to grow into a Full-Time role) Compensation: $30 USD per hour (+ eventual $100 USD bonus for every client closed when taking triage calls) Overview Smart Gets Paid teaches awesome, ambitious women how to land higher-paying clients in their B2B consulting businesses. We need someone just as awesome to support and grow our business as Sales Development Specialist. The Sales Development Specialist will be responsible for nurturing and qualifying potential leads through one-on-one conversations (primarily on LinkedIn), and inviting qualified leads to book a call, using our message framework. You’ll be a representative of Leah Neaderthal and Smart Gets Paid, so your ability to build rapport and communicate clearly is key. You will be an integral member of our team, contributing to the growth of our sales pipeline, improving lead quality, and ultimately helping more women consultants work with higher-paying clients. You’ll be perfect for this role if you’ve worked in a Sales Development or Lead Gen role before, are confident in chat-based conversations, have a strong attention to detail, and are motivated to grow into a more advanced sales role over time. The growth path for this role is to conduct first sales calls with potential clients and, over time, oversee and manage a small team of appointment setters. Duties and Responsibilities - Use LinkedIn and email to engage leads using our proven message framework - Guide conversations to qualify leads and determine if they’re a good fit for our programs - Invite qualified leads to book a triage call with the founder - Make sure all qualifying questions are answered before scheduling the call - Keep all lead info up-to-date and organized in CRM Provide the founder with a quick briefing before each triage call so she’s fully prepped - Track your activity and share what’s working and what could be improved - Follow and refine our sell-by-chat process, using best practices to build trust and move conversations forward - Contribute ideas and insights to help improve how we attract and convert leads Abilities and Qualifications You’ll thrive in this role if you: - Have experience in a Sales Development or Lead Gen role (you’ve done prospecting before) - Write clean, typo-free messages that sound human, helpful, and on-brand - You can read between the lines in written messages and respond with warmth, professionalism, and precision to guide guide conversations with empathy and confidence - Can manage multiple conversations and keep everything up to date in the CRM - Are tech-savvy and can quickly learn new platforms (experience with CRMs is a plus) - Can “manage up” and ask for help - Speak English fluently Bonus points if you: - Have used LinkedIn for lead gen and engagement Are familiar with email marketing platforms - Have an interest in stepping into sales calls and managing a small team in the future You are someone who: - Is self-directed, reliable, and consistent - you follow up, follow through, and communicate clearly - Is coachable and eager to get better you’re not defensive about feedback - Is very organized and detail-oriented. Growth Path This role has room to grow, and we’re excited to invest in your development. - Over time, you’ll take on triage calls with leads (we’ll train you) - Earn a $100 bonus for every client who closes after a triage call with you - Learn how to handle discovery, objections, and sales conversations - Contribute to improving the appointment-setting process so we reach more of the right people, faster - Long term, manage a small team of appointment setters Job Details - This is a part-time, independent contractor position. - Hours start at approximately 15 hrs per week with the potential to increase. - Compensation starts at $30 per hour with opportunities for bonuses - You will need to be available for a weekly team call - While the working hours are extremely flexible, you’ll need to be accessible to respond via Slack between M-F 9-2pm ET. - This is an hourly position with opportunities for bonuses based on company performance and meeting our sales goals. - Work is virtual, and you’ll use your own computer. Reliable computer and internet connection are essential.
