As a Telehealth Nurse, you’ll be responsible for providing high-quality, remote care to patients through virtual consultations. You’ll assess patients’ health conditions, offer guidance based on their symptoms, and work closely with healthcare teams to ensure that patients receive appropriate care plans. Qualifications & Skills To be successful in this position, you should be a Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in patient care, particularly in a remote or virtual setting. Comfort with technology is essential, as you’ll need to troubleshoot basic telehealth issues and guide patients through the platform. Strong communication skills are a must, as you’ll be explaining medical information to patients and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure a high standard of care. You’ll need to be highly organized, capable of managing multiple patient interactions simultaneously, and able to work independently. A commitment to patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA is essential, and a familiarity with telehealth best practices will help you navigate the evolving landscape of virtual care. If you have any prior experience with telehealth or hold telehealth-related certifications, that’s a bonus, but not a requirement.
