At Parkland Hospital, we’re embracing the future of healthcare through innovative technology and looking for a compassionate and skilled Telehealth Nurse to help us lead the way. As a Telehealth Nurse, you’ll be responsible for providing high-quality, remote care to patients through virtual consultations. You’ll assess patients’ health conditions, offer guidance based on their symptoms, and work closely with healthcare teams to ensure that patients receive appropriate care plans. You will play a vital role in ensuring that patients feel supported, educated, and empowered in managing their health remotely. Your primary duties will involve conducting patient assessments, providing clinical advice, and helping patients navigate telehealth technology. You’ll also document all interactions in the electronic health records (EHR) system, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and maintaining a seamless, secure process for patient care. Responsibilities In this role, you will be expected to deliver telehealth consultations, where you will assess patients’ symptoms, review their medical history, and provide recommendations for treatment or next steps. You’ll work closely with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare providers to ensure patients receive the right care remotely. Beyond clinical assessments, you will also play an important role in educating patients about how to use the telehealth platform, troubleshooting any technical issues they might encounter during virtual visits, and ensuring that patients feel confident and comfortable in the process. As part of your ongoing responsibilities, you’ll track patient progress and adjust care plans as necessary, ensuring that the virtual experience is as thorough and effective as in-person care. Additionally, you will manage patient documentation in the EHR system, maintaining accurate, up-to-date records while ensuring full compliance with HIPAA regulations. Your attention to detail will be crucial in ensuring that all information is captured accurately, allowing for seamless communication between healthcare providers and ensuring that patient privacy is upheld at all times. Qualifications & Skills To be successful in this position, you should be a Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in patient care, particularly in a remote or virtual setting. Comfort with technology is essential, as you’ll need to troubleshoot basic telehealth issues and guide patients through the platform. Strong communication skills are a must, as you’ll be explaining medical information to patients and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure a high standard of care. You’ll need to be highly organized, capable of managing multiple patient interactions simultaneously, and able to work independently. A commitment to patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA is essential, and a familiarity with telehealth best practices will help you navigate the evolving landscape of virtual care. If you have any prior experience with telehealth or hold telehealth-related certifications, that’s a bonus, but not a requirement.
