We are seeking a talented developer to create an efficient and user-friendly search feature for our website. This functionality should allow users to easily find applications based on specific criteria. The ideal candidate will have experience in web development and a strong understanding of search algorithms and UI/UX design principles. RiemerPlus connects credit professionals across dozens of industries. RiemerPlus members have a personalized dashboard of vendors to assist with making informed credit decisions in real-time. On a monthly basis, RiemerPlus members share accounts receivable data with their peers. Riemer.com provides advanced reporting and analytics across industry groups. RiemerPlus maintains a database of vendors throughout the world, including detailed historical A/R data and advanced metrics including our proprietary Riemer Score. Members can search for accounts by name or ID ("Riemer number") using a persistent search bar on their dashboard. There is a link to "Advanced Search", discussed below. Search results include business name, address, Riemer number, whether it is an account in the member's profile ("My Account") and the number of members contributing data for this particular account. From the search results, the member can click through to a detailed credit report for the account they were looking for. Advanced Search: The system has separate tabs to search for accounts by name and address, by address only, by Riemer number (e.g. R-xxxxxxx), by the member's own internal account identifier, or by business owner name. Goals: - Improve search accuracy: key matches include name, location, ID (theirs or ours), business owners, etc. - Sort results by relevance: consider "my accounts", members reporting, etc. in addition to search query - Richer search results: EIN, "Total $ Reported" (for the current period), "# Trade Lines", etc. - Streamlined search UX, e.g. "Google-like" search - Search performance and impact on overall system is paramount Your job is to build an application or API that allows us to improve our application search that integrates seamlessly with the existing Riemer.com dashboard. The current search back-end is written in Objective-C. It is a macOS application that uses a custom implementation of Enterprise Objects and Oracle client libraries to connect to our Oracle database. We prefer to keep the current database schema unchanged if possible. We would like to offload search to a purpose-build database, as long as we can keep our search results as close to real-time as possible. We are constantly importing new member data every day as it is shared with us, especially early in the month as members close out their prior months' books. The front-end (Drupal on LAMP stack) will of course need to be adapted to interface with the new search application.
