Penetration-Tester & Bug-Hunter Workflow Advisor


Role Overview We're seeking experienced penetration testers and bug bounty hunters for a short-term remote consulting engagement to help shape an AI-driven security testing platform. This is a unique opportunity to directly influence how AI can enhance security testing workflows by sharing your real-world expertise and pain points. Project Background We're building a next-generation security testing platform that leverages AI to augment human expertise. To ensure we're solving real problems, we need input from active practitioners who understand the nuances of modern security testing. All work is 100% remote via video calls and asynchronous collaboration. Responsibilities As a Workflow Advisor, you will: • Share Your Expertise: Walk through your complete penetration testing or bug hunting workflow in 2-3 recorded video sessions (via Zoom/Google Meet) • Identify AI Opportunities: Pinpoint repetitive tasks, bottlenecks, and areas where AI agents could provide meaningful assistance • Review Prototypes: Provide hands-on feedback on early feature designs through screenshots or live demos • Document Insights: Deliver a concise written summary (2-3 pages) outlining your workflow and specific AI enhancement recommendations • Test Alpha Features (Optional): Quick-test early releases and complete a brief feedback survey Deliverables • 2-3 one-hour video calls (recorded for internal R&D purposes) • Written workflow analysis and AI improvement recommendations (2-3 pages) • Optional: Alpha release testing with feedback survey Requirements Must-Have • Proven Track Record: Demonstrable experience in penetration testing or bug bounty hunting (public reports, Hall of Fame listings, or CVE credits required) • Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of standard tools (Burp Suite, Nmap, subdomain enumeration tools, fuzzers, etc.) • Communication Skills: Ability to clearly explain methodologies and share sanitized real-world examples • Remote Work Setup: Reliable internet connection, quality microphone, and comfortable with video calls • Language: Fluent English (spoken and written) Nice-to-Have • Automation experience with Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages • Previous work with AI tools (LLMs, LangChain, custom security scripts) • Specialization in specific domains (web applications, mobile, cloud, IoT) – please specify your area Project Details • Duration: Approximately 3 weeks total engagement • Time Commitment: 5-8 hours total across the engagement period • Schedule: Flexible – we'll work around your availability • Communication: Primarily through Upwork messages, video calls for sessions • Time Zones: We can accommodate any time zone with advance scheduling Why This Matters Your insights will directly shape how AI assists the next generation of security testers.
