We are looking for an experienced developer to fix and optimize the algorithm responsible for sorting moms into kinships. The algorithm currently sorts moms based on a range of factors including their baby's due date, interests, age, and other personalized data. However, since the app's launch, there are about 28 moms stuck in the "waiting" table who have not been successfully sorted into kinships. Key Responsibilities: Analyze and debug the current algorithm that sorts moms into kinships. Review the weighting logic used in the sorting algorithm, especially factors like due date, interests, age, and others. Identify the reasons why moms are not getting sorted into kinships, specifically focusing on the moms currently stuck in the waiting table. Work with the team to fix any bugs or misalignments in the algorithm to ensure moms are grouped accurately and efficiently. Test and validate the fixed algorithm to ensure all moms are appropriately matched and sorted. Qualifications: Proven experience in developing and optimizing algorithms, particularly for sorting or recommendation systems. Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithmic problem-solving. Proficiency in JavaScript, or similar languages used for algorithm development. Experience with handling large datasets and ensuring high-performance computations. Strong analytical skills with an ability to debug and troubleshoot complex issues. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues in simple terms. Previous experience working with apps or platforms that involve user data and personalized algorithms is a plus. About Kinship: Kinship is a community-driven app designed to foster meaningful connections among moms and moms-to-be by helping them connect with others in similar life stages. Our goal is to create a supportive environment for moms through local meetups, playdates, and shared advice. After going live, we’ve encountered a challenge that requires a skilled developer to help optimize the algorithm that sorts moms into kinships (small groups based on common attributes).
