Link Building for Salary Data Website

I run a salary data website for healthcare professionals. Think Glassdoor, but for Healthcare workers only. This is a tech startup. I am trying to rank currently for just my brand name. It does not show up in search, but it is indexed. It does show up fine on Yahoo/Bing. I think it would be easy to get .edu and .org backlinks by sharing my site with student groups at universities or student/professional organizations. I listed my site on Crunchbase, linkedin, fb, tiktok, instagram. Maybe there are other directories we can use? I also think a lot of other sites would find our data/site interesting.
