Resourceful Amazon API expert needed

Very simple end goal: I need to be able to scan the FNSKU on an Amazon FBA label on an individual book that is not in my inventory (important detail), and convert it to the corresponding ASIN for that book. Obstacles: I know that it's possible since, other 3rd party sites do it, but i've been unable to find it anywhere in Amazon's documentation. Clarification: I know this is easily doable for books already in our inventory - we can write a script to convert FNSKU to ASIN for that. We need an FNSKU to asin conversion for any random FNSKU you might come across. You may be able to complete this in 5 minutes - will still pay full fee. Just need it done.
