Job Overview We are looking for a skilled US-based PHP/WordPress developer to help maintain and improve our WordPress site and custom PHP plugins. This role requires someone who can dive into our existing codebase, understand custom plugins, and provide both ongoing maintenance and occasional enhancements. The position is part-time, approximately 20 hours per week, with flexibility but availability during Eastern Time business hours preferred. Key Responsibilities - Maintain and update our WordPress site and custom PHP plugins - Implement security updates and performance improvements for WordPress - Make occasional enhancements to WordPress functionality - Troubleshoot WordPress-related issues and ensure best practices are followed - Work collaboratively to support development needs within our tech stack Required Skills - 5+ years of frontend development experience - Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript - Experience with modern React patterns and hooks - Proficiency with React Router - Experience with state management (Zustand, React Query) - Knowledge of UI component libraries (especially Radix UI) - Experience with CSS-in-JS and Tailwind CSS - Working knowledge of WordPress plugin development - Strong PHP programming skills - Version control experience with Git - Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail - Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a remote environment Nice to Have - Experience in the HVAC or service industry - Familiarity with business operations software - Knowledge of gRPC and Protocol Buffers - Experience with Amazon Web Services - Advanced WordPress plugin development - Experience with automated testing - Experience with nx monorepo tooling Our Tech Stack Primary Application: - React 19 - TypeScript - React Router - Zustand for state management - React Query for data fetching - Radix UI - Tailwind CSS - Jest/Playwright for testing - nx monorepo WordPress Environment: - Custom plugins - Custom themes - Standard WordPress stack Work & Payment Details - Hourly Pay Only (Upwork time tracker required) - Part-Time Role (Estimated 20 hours per week) - US-based applicants only - Remote position, must have strong written and spoken English skills How to Apply To be considered, please include the following in your application: 1.
