This research focuses on four countries in West Africa: Liberia, Guinea, Sierra Leone, and Ivory Coast (Côte d’Ivoire). These nations share geographical proximity, agroecological conditions favorable for the cultivation of both crops, and a history of agricultural dependency. However, they differ significantly in terms of production levels, infrastructure, policy environments, and market access. • Ivory Coast is the world’s largest cocoa producer and has a relatively well-developed export infrastructure. • Liberia, Guinea, and Sierra Leone have rich agricultural potential but are underperforming in terms of global market share, due in part to historical conflicts, limited investment, and infrastructural challenges. This study aims to provide a comparative and comprehensive overview of coffee and cocoa sectors in these four countries, with an emphasis on production trends, economic impact, policy environment, challenges, and opportunities for growth and value addition. The findings will help inform policy recommendations, investment strategies, and development programs to support sustainable agricultural development in the region
