Django Database Performance Issue

When running the database on the linode instance, the response times are quick. However, when using a managed database solution like Linode or Digital Ocean, the database response times mushroom to greater than 10 seconds. We are using CSRF, SSL, JWT, Linode and POSTGRESQL16 with digital ocean managed db.
