Description: Honestas Commercial Services, LLC is a U.S.-based Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) operating in the federal procurement space. We work with vetted international suppliers to bring high-quality construction, MedTech, and robotics solutions to federal buyers through our Government Portal and AWS GovCloud infrastructure. We are seeking a multidisciplinary external consultant to assist with federal contract accounting (FAR/DCAA), audit/compliance preparation (GSA, ITAR, FDA), and non-dilutive funding support (SBIR/STTR, export development grants). This role is ideal for a GovCon-seasoned CPA, former DCAA/GSA compliance officer, or SBIR-experienced grant strategist capable of supporting a high-growth SDVOSB on a fractional or project basis. Key Responsibilities: Review and align indirect cost structures with FAR Part 31 Provide guidance on DCAA-compliant bookkeeping, accounting system setup, and indirect rate calculations Audit and refine proposal pricing for GSA Schedule eligibility and readiness Ensure internal controls and documentation are prepared for compliance across FDA, ITAR, and GSA audit requirements Identify and support the application process for SBIR, STTR, and export development grants Recommend compliance protocols for supplier-side onboarding and cost-recovery frameworks Ideal Background: CPA with DCAA audit or GovCon accounting experience Former GSA, DoD, or SBA compliance officer or consultant Experience navigating ITAR, FDA device classification, and other regulatory frameworks relevant to medical and mobility products Familiarity with grant funding mechanisms such as SBIR/STTR, EDA, DOD Tech Hubs, and state export promotion programs Engagement Scope: On-call / Retainer structure preferred 5–15 hours/month expected, with peak hours during procurement cycles Initial 3-month engagement with option to extend Preferred Tools / Familiarity: QuickBooks Online SAM.gov, FPDS, GSA eMod / eOffer Experience reviewing project cost proposals, indirect rate agreements, or grant technical narratives To Apply: Please include: A summary of relevant past government contract or audit support experience Sample reports or cost structures prepared for DCAA or GSA review (if available) Hourly or retainer-based rate proposal Optional: SBIR/STTR proposal writing experience or successful submissions Honestas is scaling fast and building a lean, government-ready support ecosystem.
