CPA Needed for Early-Stage Manufacturing Startup in Alabama

We’re seeking a licensed CPA to support an early-stage manufacturing startup based in Alabama. The company is launching a physical product line sold direct-to-consumer via an eCommerce storefront (WooCommerce + Stripe), with inventory managed through a light manufacturing workflow. We’re looking for a collaborative, startup-friendly CPA to assist with the following: Core Responsibilities -Provide oversight and review of QuickBooks Online (QBO) setup and monthly bookkeeping (bookkeeper already selected) -Offer ongoing tax planning and compliance guidance -Prepare and file business tax returns Provide guidance on: -COGS handling for assembled/insert-based products -Inventory accounting methods -Sales tax considerations (in collaboration with bookkeeper) -Serve as an on-call resource for tax or compliance questions as the business scales Requirements -Must be a licensed CPA in Alabama or licensed in a state with Alabama reciprocity -Experience with product-based businesses (manufacturing or eCommerce) -Familiarity with QBO, Stripe, and/or inventory systems (Katana is a bonus) -Comfortable collaborating with a fractional consultant (me) and an independent bookkeeper -Strong communication and documentation habits -Knowledge of Alabama state tax law and franchise tax -Experience supporting early-stage or founder-led companies -Willingness to advise on entity structure if needs evolve Timing & Engagement -Business is pre-revenue but launching soon -Initial engagement will include a review of system setup and tax structure -Likely to transition to annual tax filing + periodic advisory support
