We’re a fast-growing platform operating at the intersection of public art and real estate, enabling large-scale mural installations through a curated network of artists and property owners. As we move into a more advanced stage of growth, we’re seeking a sharp, analytical, and strategic fractional CFO who can audit our current financial structure, evaluate our business model, and help us build the systems necessary to scale with clarity and control. Objective: You will partner directly with the founder to dissect our business model, evaluate our financial infrastructure, and deliver clear answers to the following: Key Questions You’ll Help Us Answer: Business Model Evaluation • Are we structured correctly for sustainable, scalable growth? • Do our artist payout formulas and revenue mechanics hold up under scrutiny? • How should we think about margins across different project sizes and client types? Financial Health Check • Is our P&L clean and telling us what we need to know? • Does our balance sheet reflect reality, or are there gaps? • How should we treat income from partial payments (e.g., 20/50/30) in our books? Cash Flow & Forecasting • What’s our real burn rate and how much runway do we have? • Can you build or improve our cash flow projection model? • How do we prepare for cash gaps or delayed owner payments? Compensation & Structuring • Are our internal salary caps and artist payouts financially sustainable? • How should we structure team pay, commissions, and incentives as we scale? Tooling & Operations • Are QuickBooks, Mercury, and Airtable sufficient—or do we need better tooling? • Can we streamline invoice collection, payment categorization, and cost tracking? • Should we break out project costs vs. operating costs more clearly? Strategic Planning • What would our finances look like at $2M, $5M revenue? • What breaks at scale? What needs to be rebuilt now? • What metrics should we monitor weekly and monthly? What You Should Bring: • Experience as a CFO, financial controller, or strategic finance lead in startups or creative/agency-based businesses • Fluency in cash flow modeling, P&L analysis, forecasting, margin analysis, and scenario planning • Understanding of platform-based or service-based business models (bonus if you’ve worked with marketplaces, agencies, or real estate) • Ability to turn numbers into actionable, founder-ready insight • Bonus: Knowledge of QuickBooks, Mercury, Airtable, and/or dashboard tools Engagement Format: • Project-based or ongoing part-time role • Expected workload: 5–10 hours/month to start • Initial focus on audit, then move into ongoing advisement To Apply: • Brief intro outlining your relevant experience and financial philosophy • Example of a similar business you helped clarify or scale financially • Your rate and availability We are not looking for a passive accountant. We are looking for a strategic partner who can think critically, challenge assumptions, and help us scale confidently.
